The show delivered by Tshedza Pictures has been designated in the Best Telenovela classification and will go facing different telenovelas from Argentina, Colombia and Portugal.

The River which flaunts an elite player cast pursues the lives of the Dlaminis and the Mokoenas, two families from various foundations who are united and isolated by the revelation of a jewel in Cullinan, only a short distance from Pretoria.

Nkateko Mabaso, CEO of M-Net, said in a statement: "1Magic would like to thank everyone involved in the success of the show."
